Resurrection was formed in 1990 in Tampa, Florida. Right in the midst of the Florida Death Metal scene was born a band that would stand the test of time.
After 2 demo recordings and playing live with many of Resurrection’s contemporaries; the band was picked up by the young Nuclear Blast Records. 1993 saw the release of the now infamous “Embalmed Existence” album. A must have for anyone’s Death Metal collection, and has been a consistent seller! The band toured regionally while continuing to build a world-wide fan base.
A changing scene and member’s personal interests temporarily split the band up in 1995 only to get back together in 2005.
In 2005 Resurrection was together again and playing festivals in the US with plans including new albums and touring, and staying active long term. In 2007 Resurrection was picked up by Massacre Records and released a new full-length in 2008 called “Mistaken For Dead” which was very well received in the Metal community. The following year, 2009 saw the re-release of sorts of the “Embalmed Existence Limited Edition” album. The album included the bands 1991 & 1992 Demo’s and additional bonus material- and the entire release was re-mastered.
At this time it was apparent that Resurrection was not going away or just having some kind of nostalgic reunion. Resurrection was back, and back to stay.
2010 brought the band to Europe for the “Resurrected in Europe” Tour 2010. The tour was a 3 week run and brought the bands fan base to the surface of a revived Florida Death Metal scene!!
Resurrection released both “Mistaken For Dead” and “Embalmed Existence Limited Edition” on vinyl in 2011 as well as releasing a 4-song Recording entitled “Ritual Slaughter”.
The band was off to tour again and in 2012 toured Europe on the “Autumn Anguish” 2012 European Tour. This tour was also a 3 week run and saw not only good crowds, but was heightened by being one of the Saturday headliners at the “Hell Inside” Festival, in Wurzburg Germany.
Resurrection is preparing for their new release “SOUL DESCENT- MARCH OF DEATH” in March 2014 and a European tour in support. The “March Of Death” 2014 European Tour begins March 14th in Germany in support of Resurrection’s new release entitled: “Soul Descent- March Of Death”. The tour will take the band through; Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, Poland, & Czech Republic.
